Experiment with different water temperatures in your bong for different types of hits.
From The Archives â There are three things you need to get good bong hits: a bong, ouiâd and the water. Should you use be using ice cold water or hot water? There are benefits to using either temperature as they provide different sensations.
Ice water bongs more effectively condense smoke, delivering thicker, more refreshing hits. The crispness of cold water enhances the freshness and flavor of the flower, but, it can also be harsher to smoke. Using hot water is often praised for the smooth and non-harsh hit it delivers. Consider hot water to be a spa for your throat. Youâre inhaling a steamy, warm smoke that cleanses your throat and gives you a relaxed experience. With a warmer smoke, you can expect for longer, smoother pulls.
Want to turn it up a notch? If your bong has an ice catcher, we recommend experimenting with a hot water in the base, ice in the chamber combo. Prepare to be amazed. Let us know your thoughts and experience.
A few things to keep in mind:
If youâre going to experiment with warmer water, donât go above the temperature of an immediately drinkable cup of tea. Too much steam can burn your throat.
Whichever temperature you prefer, always change your bong water after each sesh. Leaving it to sit is a recipe for bacteria and grime. Fresher water equals fresher pulls.
Glass bongs are sensitive to sudden temperature changes. Donât pour hot water into a cold bong or cold water into a warm bong. Run the piece under lukewarm water first.
